xchngbl is built on trust, respect, and fair trading. These Community Guidelines help everyone have a positive experience. By using xchngbl, you agree to follow these guidelines.

1. Be Honest
Do
- Describe items accurately, including any flaws
- Use real photos of the actual item
- Disclose damage, wear, or missing parts
- Update your offers if items are no longer available
Don't
- Post fake or misleading descriptions
- Use stock photos or someone else's images
- Hide defects or problems
- Claim items are authentic when they're not
2. Be Respectful
Do
- Communicate politely and professionally
- Respond to proposals within a reasonable time
- Decline proposals courteously if not interested
- Respect others' time and effort
Don't
- Harass, insult, or threaten other users
- Use offensive, hateful, or discriminatory language
- Spam users with unwanted messages
- Share others' personal information
3. Be Safe
Do
- Meet in public, well-lit locations
- Bring a friend if you feel more comfortable
- Inspect items before completing the trade
- Trust your instincts — cancel if something feels wrong
- Keep personal details private until after a proposal is accepted

- Coffee shops
- Shopping mall parking lots
- Police station parking lots
- Busy public parks
- Library entrances
4. Be Fair
Do
- Propose trades with roughly equal value
- Honor accepted proposals
- Coordinate meetups in good faith
- Be flexible with scheduling when possible
- Complete trades you've agreed to
Don't
- Make lowball offers repeatedly
- Accept proposals you don't intend to honor
- Repeatedly cancel last-minute
- Demand unreasonable trade terms
- Use xchngbl for commercial resale
5. What You Can and Cannot Trade
You CAN Trade
Clothing, shoes, accessories, books, movies, games, electronics (working condition), household items, toys, sports equipment, musical instruments, collectibles, tools, arts and crafts supplies, and much more!
You CANNOT Trade
- Illegal items: Stolen property, counterfeit goods, illegal drugs
- Dangerous items: Weapons, firearms, explosives, hazardous chemicals
- Regulated items: Prescription medications, alcohol, tobacco
- Adult content: Sexually explicit materials
- Other: Recalled products, items you don't own

6. Red Flags to Watch For
Be cautious if someone:
- Refuses to meet in public
- Pressures you to trade immediately
- Changes terms at the last minute
- Won't let you inspect items
- Asks for money or payment
- Uses stock photos instead of real photos
- Has vague or misleading descriptions
- Asks for personal information too early
If something feels off, trust your instincts and cancel.
7. Reporting Issues
When to Report
Report if you see prohibited items, scams, harassment, fake accounts, spam, violations of these guidelines, or safety concerns.
How to Report
- Click the “Report” button on any offer or profile
- Or email xchngbl@xchngbl.com with links, screenshots, and a description
- We review all reports, usually within 24–48 hours
8. Consequences for Violations
- First offense (minor): Warning and offer removal
- Second offense: Temporary suspension (7–30 days)
- Third offense or serious violation: Permanent account termination
- Immediate permanent ban: Posting illegal items, threats or violence, scams, severe harassment, creating safety risks
9. Respect Diversity
xchngbl welcomes everyone — all backgrounds, identities, and experiences. We do not tolerate discrimination based on race, religion, gender, orientation, disability, or any protected class. Hate speech, symbols, and exclusionary behavior are strictly prohibited.
