Why XCHNGBL is 18+

Trades start in the app and finish in person. Two people agree on a swap, then meet locally to hand over the items. That shapes everything about who the app is for:

• Members decide for themselves what something is worth, whether it matches its description, and whether a meetup with a stranger feels right. That is adult judgment.
• Members take real ownership of physical goods, and may add cash on either side to balance a trade. XCHNGBL never holds or processes that money — it settles in person, between the two people trading.
• Meeting someone from the internet to exchange property carries risk that we don't think belongs to minors.

The 18+ requirement is a deliberate product decision, not a side effect of a content rating. There is no under-18 version of XCHNGBL.

What members can see and share

XCHNGBL carries content that members create, and some of it is visible beyond the person who posted it. In plain terms:

• Listings. Photos, titles, and descriptions members write about things they own. These appear in the Discover feed for other members nearby, and can be found through search and filters.
• Trade Pages. Any member can turn on a public page at their own handle that gathers their listings behind one shareable link. New accounts are private by default — a Trade Page is opt-in, and once enabled it is visible to anyone with the link, including people without an account.
• Ratings. After a completed trade, each side can rate the other and leave a short comment. Ratings and the resulting score are visible to other members on a trader's profile.
• Followed traders. Members can follow a trader to keep up with their new listings. Who you follow is private; a trader sees only how many followers they have, never the list.
• Messages. Conversations happen inside a specific trade, one-to-one between the two people in it. They are not public and are never broadcast.

XCHNGBL has no public comment threads, no public likes or reactions, no resharing of other members' posts, no public follower lists, and no general-interest content feed. Discovery is organized around what people have to trade near you.

How we enforce the age requirement

• Everyone provides a date of birth during signup. Accounts that don't meet the 18+ requirement cannot complete onboarding.
• Our Terms of Service require every member to be 18 or older.
• Anyone can report a listing, a message, or a member from inside the app. Accounts we determine belong to someone under 18 are removed.
• We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us and we will act on it.

Safety and moderation

• Report and block are available on every public profile, conversation, and trade.
• Reports go to a moderation queue. We can remove listings, warn members, suspend accounts, or remove them entirely.
• Every moderation action is recorded in an internal audit log.
• Our Community Guidelines cover honest listings, respectful conduct, safe meetup practices, and what may not be traded.

Regional requirements

XCHNGBL requires every member to be 18 or older in every region where it is available. Where local law sets a minimum age for holding a social media account — such as Australia's requirement that people under 16 not hold one — our policy is stricter than that floor, and no one below 18 may hold an XCHNGBL account anywhere.

Our App Store age rating is 18+ worldwide, shown as A18 in Brazil and 19+ in South Korea to match those countries' own rating systems.
